dc.description.abstractSulawesi Selatan adalah salah satu provinsi dengan produksi budidaya udang tertinggi di Indonesia, memiliki tambak udang terluas dengan luas 98.617 ha dan total produksi 44.528 ton pada 2019. Tambak di provinsi ini tersebar di pantai barat, selatan, dan timur, dengan Kabupaten Barru sebagai salah satu kabupaten penghasil udang terbesar, memanfaatkan 97,9% dari 2.539 ha potensi areal budidaya tambak. Desa Lawallu di Kecamatan Soppeng Riaja, Kabupaten Barru, mengalihkan budidaya dari udang windu ke vaname pada 2007. Produksi udang vanamei menurun pada tahun 2019 dan 2020 karena serangan penyakit seperti Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease (AHPND). Penurunan kualitas lingkungan akibat manajemen tambak yang tidak efektif menjadi masalah utama. Penyakit yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Vibrio mempengaruhi kesehatan udang, terutama karena fluktuasi kualitas air dan konsentrasi amonia. Pengelolaan kawasan pesisir Desa Lawallu belum optimal, tidak memperhatikan aspek ekologi, ekonomi, sosial, kelembagaan, dan teknologi. Kajian terkait pengelolaan kawasan pesisir diperlukan untuk menjamin keberlanjutan budidaya tambak udang vaname dan peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis aspek ekologi yang meliputi kualitas perairan dan daya dukung perairan untuk mendukung kegiatan budidaya udang vaname. Selain itu mengidentifikasi aspek sosial, ekonomi, kelembagaan, dan teknologi serta menyusun strategi pengelolaan kawasan pesisir berbasis budidaya tambak udang vaname di Desa Lawallu. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Agustus hingga Oktober 2023, berlokasi di Dusun Tanrabalana dan Dusun Oring, Desa Lawallu, Kecamatan Soppeng Riaja, Kabupaten Barru, Provinsi Sulawesi-Selatan. Penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi identifikasi karakteristik pesisir di kawasan tambak, pengukuran kualitas air pada kolam tambak, saluran air maupun perairan pantai di sekitar wilayah tambak udang. Selain itu dilakukan juga identifikasi aspek sosial, ekonomi, kelembagaan dan teknologi yang digunakan pada tambak udang vaname di Desa Lawallu. Hasil identifikasi tersebut selanjutnya digunakan untuk menyusun rekomendasi strategi pengelolaan kawasan pesisir untuk pengembangan tambak udang vanamei di Desa Lawallu dengan menggunakan pendekatan Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Desa Lawallu memiliki 82% tambak aktif dari total 105 kolam tambak yang ada. Perairan di Pesisir Desa Lawallu memiliki kecepatan arus di sepanjang pantai daerah penelitian berkisar antara 0,02045 m/detik sampai 0,05556 m/detik dengan tipe pasang surut semi diurnal dan terdapat ekosistem mangrove di pesisirnya. Kualitas perairan pada saluran air dan kolam tambak udang di Desa Lawallu, masih dalam kategori baik hanya parameter amonia yang sudah melebihi nilai baku mutu. Berdasarkan perhitungan daya dukung perairan, kegiatan budidaya udang vaname di Desa Lawallu berdasarkan hasil perhitungan volume perairannya masih dikatakan belum melampaui nilai daya dukungnya. Meskipun belum mencapai produktivitas yang maksimal, kegiatan budidaya udang vaname di desa Lawallu secara keseluruhan masih tetap mengalami keuntungan dan memberikan lapangan pekerjaan bagi masyarakat sekitar. Peran lembaga pemerintah juga belum cukup membantu petani tambak dalam meningkatkan produktivitas tambak. Strategi yang dapat dilakukan untuk pengelolaan kawasan pesisir dalam pengembangan tambak udang vaname di Desa Lawallu yaitu dengan dilakukannya pengelolaan kualitas air tambak dan limbah, penyediaan sarana dan prasarana tambak untuk mencapai pengelolaan budidaya tambak yang ramah, akses permodalan dengan sistem lunak dengan peningkatan kapasitas sumber daya manusia (SDM) dalam hal ini yaitu para petani tambak budidaya udang vaname dengan pendekatan Better Management Practise (BMP) dan peningkatan kapasitas lembaga, salah satunya yaitu penyuluh perikanan.
dc.description.abstractSouth Sulawesi is one of the provinces with the highest shrimp farming production in Indonesia, boasting the largest shrimp farms with an area of 98,617 hectares and a total production of 44,528 tons in 2019. These shrimp farms are distributed along the western, southern, and eastern coasts of the province, with Barru Regency being one of the largest shrimp-producing regions, utilizing 97.9% of its 2,539 hectares of potential shrimp farming area. Lawallu Village, in Soppeng Riaja District, Barru Regency, shifted its farming focus from tiger shrimp to vannamei shrimp in 2007. However, vannamei shrimp production declined in 2019 and 2020 due to disease outbreaks such as Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease (AHPND). The primary issue is the degradation of environmental quality due to ineffective farm management. Diseases caused by Vibrio bacteria affect shrimp health, particularly due to fluctuations in water quality and ammonia concentration. The coastal area management in Lawallu Village has not been optimal, lacking attention to ecological, economic, social, institutional, and technological aspects. Studies on coastal area management are needed to ensure the sustainability of vannamei shrimp farming and improve community welfare. The study aims to analyze ecological aspects including water quality and water carrying capacity to support vaname shrimp cultivation activities. In addition, it identifies social, economic, institutional, and technological aspects and develops coastal area management strategies based on vaname shrimp pond cultivation in Lawallu Village. The research was conducted from August to October 2023 in Tanrabalana and Oring hamlets, Lawallu Village, Soppeng Riaja District, Barru Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The research included identifying the coastal characteristics of the farm area, measuring water quality in shrimp ponds, water channels, and coastal waters around the shrimp farming area. Additionally, social, economic, institutional, and technological aspects of vannamei shrimp farming in Lawallu Village were identified. These findings were then used to develop recommendations for coastal area management strategies for the development of vannamei shrimp farms in Lawallu Village using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach. The results indicate that Lawallu Village has 82% of active ponds out of a total of 105 ponds. The coastal waters in Lawallu Village have a current speed ranging from 0.02045 m/s to 0.05556 m/s with a semi-diurnal tidal pattern and a mangrove ecosystem along the coast. The water quality in the water channels and shrimp ponds in Lawallu Village is generally good, except for ammonia levels which have exceeded the standard limits. Based on the carrying capacity calculations, vannamei shrimp farming activities in Lawallu Village, in terms of water volume, have not yet exceeded their carrying capacity. Although productivity has not reached its maximum potential, vannamei shrimp farming activities in Lawallu Village remain profitable and provide employment opportunities for the local community. Government institutions have not sufficiently assisted farmers in increasing pond productivity. Strategies for coastal area management in the development of vannamei shrimp farming in Lawallu Village include managing pond water quality and waste, providing infrastructure for sustainable shrimp farming management, offering soft loan systems for capital access, enhancing human resource capacity (particularly among vannamei shrimp farmers) through the Better Management Practice (BMP) approach, and strengthening institutional capacity, including that of fisheries extension officers.
