      Produksi Maggot BSF (Black Soldier FLy) Pada Proses Biokonversi Limbah Ekskreta Puyuh Periode Layer

      Abstract
      Ekskreta puyuh merupakan permasalahan pada usaha peternakan puyuh. Salah satu cara mengatasi masalah ini adalah menggunakan proses biokonversi dari maggot BSF (Black Soldier Fly). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kelayakan dan menganalisis produksi (biomassa) maggot BSF dan kasgot. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok yang terdiri dari 2 perlakuan dan 3 kelompok. Perlakuan yang digunakan terdiri dari 1 = ekskreta puyuh non fermentasi (P0), dan perlakuan 2 = ekskreta puyuh fermentasi (P1). Variabel yang diamati adalah conversion efficiency (ECI), laju pertumbuhan maggot, biomassa maggot BSF, biomassa kasgot, dan karakteristik kasgot. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan analysis of variance (ANOVA) secara deskriptif. Hasil biokonversi menunjukkan bahwa produksi maggot BSF pada media P0 sebesar 10,97% ± 6,74% dan pada media P1 sebesar 12,52% ± 1,98%. Maggot yang dipelihara pada media P1 memiliki laju pertumbuhan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan pada media P0. Nilai ECI tidak berbeda nyata pada media P0 (0,08) dan media P1 (0,11). Proses biokonversi oleh maggot BSF membuat ekskreta puyuh bermanfaat dan berpotensi digunakan sebagai media pertumbuhan maggot BSF. Kata kunci : biokonversi, ekskreta puyuh, maggot BSF
       
      Quail excreta is a problem in quail farming. One way to overcome this problem is to use the bioconversion process of BSF (Black Soldier Fly) maggot. This study aims to assess the feasibility and analyze the production (biomass) of BSF maggot and kasgot. This study used a Randomized Group Design consisting of 2 treatments and 3 groups. The treatments used consisted of 1 = non-fermented quail excreta (P0), and treatment 2 = fermented quail excreta (P1). The observed variables were conversion efficiency (ECI), maggot growth rate, BSF maggot biomass, kasgot biomass, and kasgot characteristics. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive analysis of variance (ANOVA). The bioconversion results showed that the production of BSF maggot on P0 media was 10.97% ± 6.74% and on P1 media was 12.52% ± 1.98%. Maggots reared on P1 media had a higher growth rate than on P0 media. The ECI value was not significantly different in P0 media (0.08) and P1 media (0.11). The bioconversion process by BSF maggot makes quail excreta useful and has the potential to be used as a growth medium for BSF maggot.
