| dc.description.abstract | The presence of weeds in peanut cultivation can suppress the growth, development, and productivity of peanut plants. The use of varieties and weeding is one of the efforts to suppress weed growth in the peanut area. This study aimed to study the response of several peanut varieties to the frequency of weeding weeds to compare the growth and yield of peanut plants. This research design used a factorial completely randomized block design (RKLT) consisting of two factors, namely peanut varieties (Hypoma 1, Talam 1, and Tasia 2) and weeding frequency (without weeding, 1x weeding, and 2x weeding). The results showed that the variety had no effect on the total dry weight of weeds, number of leaves, number of empty pods, plant fresh weight, and productivity. Weeding frequency treatment significantly affected weed dry weight, plant height, number of leaves, fresh and dry weight of peanuts, number of pods, dry weight of pods, and productivity. The 2x weeding treatment gave significantly different growth and productivity results from other weeding frequencies with the highest average productivity of 2.4 tons ha-1. The interaction of the two factors on the yield of peanuts had a significant effect on the total number of pods and the number of filled pods.
