      Sintesis dan Karakterisasi Layered Double Hydroxide (LDH) serta Aplikasinya Sebagai Adsorben Fosfat

      Abstract
      Keberadaan danau memberikan banyak manfaat bagi kehidupan di sekitarnya. Adanya akumulasi fosfat dari limbah domestik, pertanian, maupun industri dapat menyebabkan terjadinya eutrofikasi pada danau. Salah satu upaya pencegahan terjadinya eutrofikasi adalah dengan menghilangkan kandungan fosfat di dalam limbah. Dalam penelitian ini, layered double hydroxide (LDH) berbasis Mg-Al dan Mg-Al-Fe disintesis menggunakan metode kopresipitasi dan kapasitas adsorpsi serta model isoterm adsorpsinya ditentukan. Karakterisasi dari LDH Mg- Al dan Mg-Al-Fe dilakukan dengan menggunakan fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), serta scanning electron microscope (SEM). Jenis isoterm adsorpsi dari LDH kemudian ditentukan dengan menggunakan metode spektrofotometri dan dapat diketahui bahwa model isoterm adsorpsi yang cocok bagi kedua jenis LDH adalah model isoterm Langmuir. Adsorpsi fosfat yang terjadi pada kedua jenis LDH diduga merupakan adsorpsi berjenis kemisorpsi.
       
      The lake is known to provide many benefits to the life around it. The accumulation of phosphate from domestic, agricultural, and industrial wastes can cause eutrophication in lakes. One of the mitigations to prevent eutrophication is to remove the phosphate content in the waste. In this work, Mg-Al and Mg-Al-Fe layered double hydroxides (LDH) were synthesized via co-precipitation method. Its capacity as a potential phosphate adsorbent and its isotherm adsorption was investigated. The characterization of Mg-Al and Mg-Al-Fe LDH was carried out using fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The type of adsorption isotherm of LDH was then determined using the spectrophotometric method and it can be seen that the appropriate adsorption isotherm model for both types of LDH is the Langmuir isotherm model. Phosphate adsorption that occurs in both types of LDH is predicted as chemisorption type adsorption.
