      Abstract

One of the tourism concepts is the tourist village. The tourist village has several special characters and natural conditions that support it to become a tourist destination. Tigarunggu Village is one of the areas in the corridor and route to the Lake Toba tourist attraction. This area has 5 villages, 3 of which are often passed by tourists both domestically and abroad when they go to Lake Toba attractions. The three villages have fertile soil, cold air and attractive landscapes so that they have the potential to become tourist villages, but these have not been utilized and developed optimally. This is indicated by the lack of tourist visits to some of these villages when they go to the Lake Toba tourist attraction. Therefore, this study aims to identify the potential and determine the form of development of the tourist village area in Tigarunggu, Kampung Baru and Sitalasari villages. The research method begins with field observations by purposive sampling, determination of respondents, observation and identification of flower plants in the yard, temperature measurement, interviews and data analysis. The results showed that Tigarunggu, Kampung Baru and Sitalasari villages had the opportunity to be developed into tourist villages with natural potential in the form of orange gardens, vegetable gardens and flower diversity which were identified totaling 136 species from 43 tribes. Sitalasari village has the highest diversity of flower plant species. Adjacent villages do not always have the same proportion of flower types. Education level is a factor that often influences respondents' perceptions of tourist villages. Communities in the three villages have openness to all types of tourism village development. Keywords: flower plants, natural potential, perception, tourist village
