      Manajemen Produksi dan Aplikasi Retardan pada Bunga Matahari (Helianthus annuus L.) dan Aster China (Callistephus chinensis L.) di PT. Bina Usaha Flora, Cianjur, Jawa Barat

      Abstract
      PT. Bina Usaha Flora adalah salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang budidaya tanaman hias terbesar di pulau Jawa. Kegiatan magang berlangsung selama empat bulan pada bulan Januari hingga Mei 2021. Tujuan umum kegiatan magang adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dalam proses budidaya tanaman hias meliputi semua aspek teknis, aspek manajerial, dan manajemen produksi. Tujuan khusus kegiatan magang ini yaitu mendapatkan konsentrasi paclobutrazol yang paling baik untuk menurunkan tinggi tanaman bunga matahari dan aster china tanpa mengubah karakter lain dari tanaman. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi semua kegiatan yang berkaitan dengan aspek teknis kegiatan di lapangan dan diskusi langsung dengan karyawan perusahaan. Karakter tanaman yang diamati untuk aplikasi paclobutrazol meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, cabang primer, cabang sekunder, waktu bunga mekar, jumlah bunga mekar, dan diameter bunga mekar. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan aplikasi paclobutrazol pada bunga matahari dan aster china dapat menurunkan tinggi tanaman agar ideal untuk dijadikan tanaman hamparan dan tanaman pot, tanpa mengubah karakter lainnya. Aplikasi paclobutrazol pada P3 dengan konsentrasi 150 ppm dapat menurunkan tinggi tanaman 50,3% (matahari Lemon) dan 58,8% (matahari Mix) dari tanaman kontrol. Tanaman bunga matahari P3 tidak mudah rebah saat tertiup angin di lapangan. Tinggi tanaman aster china pada P1 dan P2 dengan konsentrasi 25 ppm dan 50 ppm dapat diturunkan 40,4% dan 50,1% dari tanaman kontrol, tanpa mengubah karakter lainnya. Tinggi tersebut ideal untuk dijadikan tanaman pot karena tingginya 1-1,5 kali tinggi pot.
       
      PT. Bina Usaha Flora is one of the largest ornamental plant cultivation companies on the island of Java. The internship activity was carried out for four months from January to May 2021. The general purpose of this internship is to increase knowledge in the ornamental plant cultivation process covering all technical aspect, managerial aspect, and production management. The specific purpose of this internship is to obtain the best concentration of paclobutrazol to reduce plant height of sunflower and China Aster without changing other characteristics of the plant. The data collected includes all activities related to the technical aspects of activities in the field and direct discussions with company employees. The plant characters observed for the application of paclobutrazol included plant height, number of leaves, primary branches, secondary branches, blooming time, number of flowers blooming, and diameter of blooming flowers. The results showed that paclobutrazol in sunflower and China aster and could reduce plant height, so that it is ideal for use as bedding plant and potted plant, without changing other characters. The application of paclobutrazol at P3 with a concentration of 150 ppm can reduce plant height by 50.3% (Lemon sunflower) and 58.8% (Mix sunflower) from control plants. P3 sunflower plants do not fall easily when blown by the wind in the field. Chinese aster plant height at P1 and P2 with concentrations of 25 ppm and 50 ppm could be reduce 40.4% and 50.1% from control plants, without changing other characters. This height is ideal for potted plants because it is 1-1.5 times the height of the pot.
