      Identifikasi Metabolit Sekunder dari Ekstrak Air Bunga Belimbing Wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi)

      Abstract
      Belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi) is one of the medicinal plants potential to be used for antibacterial, anticancer, antihyperlipidemic, anti-inflammatory, hypoglycemic, and larvicidal. The purpose of this study is to identify the secondary metabolites in the water extract of the flowers. Based on the phytochemical tests the components are flavonoids, saponins, phenols, and alkaloids. The crude water extract was fractionated by liquid-liquid extraction, giving 3 fractions, namely water (2.42%), n-hexane (1.87%), and ethyl acetate (2.37%) fractions. The ethyl acetate fraction was further fractionated by radial chromatography, yielding 7 fractions. The F fraction was then purified by a preparative thin-layer chromatography, producing 2 different spots, F1 and F2. The F2 isolates that were analyzed using infrared spectrophotometer and ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer were thought to be saponins based on the maximum wavelength of 268.5 nm and –OH, –CH, C=O, and C–O functional groups.
       
      Belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat tradisional yang potensial untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai antibakteri, antikanker, antihiperlipidemik, antiinflamasi, hipoglisemik, dan larvisidal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi metabolit sekunder yang terkandung dalam ekstrak air bunga tanaman tersebut. Berdasarkan uji fitokimia, komponen yang terkandung adalah flavonoid, saponin, fenol, dan alkaloid. Ekstrak air difraksionasi dengan cara ekstraksi cair-cair dan diperoleh 3 fraksi, yaitu fraksi air (2.42%), n-heksana (1.87%), dan etil asetat (2.37%). Fraksi etil asetat yang diperoleh difraksionasi lebih lanjut dengan kromatografi radial dan diperoleh 7 fraksi. Fraksi F dimurnikan lebih lanjut dengan kromatografi lapis tipis preparatif, menghasilkan 2 spot yang berbeda, yaitu F1 dan F2. Senyawa F2 yang dianalis menggunakan spektrofotometer inframerah spektrofotometer ultraviolet-tampak diduga adalah saponin karena memiliki panjang gelombang maksimum 268,5 nm dan gugus fungsi –OH, –CH, C=O, dan C–O.
