Abstract: Rendahnya literasi gizi, terutama dalam memahami label makanan kemasan, dapat menyebabkan kesalahan dalam memilih makanan untuk balita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas buku saku SMART Gizi dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap orang tua mengenai label gizi dan pemilihan makanan sehat. Penelitian menggunakan desain one group pretest-posttest dengan melibatkan 47 orang tua balita di wilayah Puskesmas Sempur. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan (Z = -4,925; p < 0,05) dan sikap (Z = -5,239; p < 0,05) setelah intervensi. Rata-rata skor pengetahuan meningkat dari 6,02 menjadi 8,23 dan sikap dari 41,25 menjadi 47,70. Sebagian besar responden mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan (74,5%) dan sikap (97,9%). Meskipun korelasi antara pengetahuan dan sikap bersifat lemah (r = 0,283; p = 0,054), buku saku ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi gizi orang tua balita
Low nutrition literacy, especially in understanding packaged food labels, can lead to poor food choices for toddlers. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the SMART Nutrition Pocket Book in improving parents’ knowledge and attitudes toward nutrition labels and healthy food selection. A one-group pretest-posttest design was applied to 47 parents at Puskesmas Sempur. The results showed significant improvements in knowledge (Z = -4.925; p < 0.05) and attitudes (Z = -5.239; p < 0.05) after the intervention. The average knowledge score increased from 6.02 to 8.23, and attitude score from 41.25 to 47.70. Most participants showed improvement in knowledge (74.5%) and attitudes (97.9%). Although the correlation between knowledge and attitude was weak (r = 0.283; p = 0.054), the pocket book proved to be an effective educational tool to enhance parental nutrition literacy.
