To ensure food safety, the government through the National Agency of Drug and Food Control, has implemented a food safety intervention program in traditional market known as the program Pasar Pangan Aman Berbasis Komunitas. Understanding the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of traditional market communities in markets where interventions have been carried out is essential to know the impact on quality and food safety. This study aims to develop an evaluation instrument to measure the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of market communities and to gather information about these aspects in locations where the food safety improvement program has been implemented. The research involves developing a questionnaire through a discussion with the expert, validity and reliability testing of the questionnaire, and final evaluation. A survey on the officers and the traders in the market was conducted using the total sampling technique to determine the sample. The officers show good knowledge (9,50 ± 0,50, scale of 10), positive attitude (40,00 ± 0,00, scale of 50), but still indicates inadequate behaviour (29,00 ± 3,00, scale of 50). The average traders show good knowledge (8,00 ± 1,04), positive attitude (41,00 ± 2,04), and good behaviour (42,64 ± 3,25). Correlation analysis indicates only the selling period that has a significant correlation with the degree of knowledge of traders.
