dc.description.abstract | The aims of this research were to know (1) optimum time that is needed for Cr3+ ions adsorbed by sawdust of albizia wood, (2) characteristic of Cr3+ ions adsorbed by sawdust of albizia wood, and (3) the adsorption capacity of unactivated sawdust of albizia wood (Albizzia falcata) and activated by ethanol–toluene (1:1) toward Cr3+ ions. Consentration of Cr3+ was measured by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The results of this research showed that, optimum time of adsorption Cr3+ by sawdust albizia wood was 60 hours, characteristic of Cr3+ ions by unactivated of sawdust of albizia wood followed the model of adsorption Langmuir isotherm, but did not follow adsorption Freundlich isotherm. Conversely, activated sawdust of albizia wood follow Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm. Adsorption capacity of activated sawdust was better than that of unactivated sawdust. The maximum adsorption of unactivated and activated sawdust of albizia wood was 1.56 mg/g and 2.21 mg/g, respectively. | id |
