      Abstract
The objective of the research was to study the effects of organic matter and N, P, K fertilizer on nutrient uptake and yield of corn and sweet potato in Inceptisol Ternate. The design of the research was factorial completely randomized block design with two factors. The first factor was the rate of organic matter (0, 20, 40 t/ha) or (B0, B1 and B2) and the second factor was the rate of N, P, K fertilizer (0,5 ; 1 and 1,5 recommended dosages) or (F1, F2 and F3). The results of research showed that combination of B1F2 was significantly increased and gave the highest amount of the corn leaf at 42 DAP and spiraling upward of potatoes at 42 DAP (in sweet potato planting), the weight of corn with husk cover, the weight corn grains, and K-availability of soil in corn planting. Whereas the rate of 20 t/ha organic matter (B1) was significantly increased and gave the highest weight of corn without husk cover, NPK corn plant content and P uptake in corn planting, and weight of sweet potatoes, P plant content and soil K availability in sweet potatoes planting. However, the dosage of F2 fertilizer was significantly increased and gave the highest to NK plant content of sweet potatoes and P-availability of soil in sweet potatoes planting. The average NPK plant uptake of corn was 31,41-39,39 kg N/ha, 6,03- 12,54 kg P/ha, 37,5-41,70 kg K/ha, and NPK plant uptake of sweet patatoes were 20,38-28,68 kg N/ha, 7,45-12,90 kg P/ha dan 27,84-36,08 kg K/ha. The average production of corn was 5,16-7,83 t/ha and sweet potatoes was 8,90-15,35 t/ha.
