Penentuan Suhu Transisi Gelas Berdasarkan Variasi Kadar Air pada Limbah Akar Wangi, Ampas Jarak Kepyar, dan Klobot Jagung
Abstract
Thermal analysis on biomass that will be applied as biocomposite alternative materials is important in biocomposite production. This study is aimed to know the effect of water content (13, 18, and 23 %) to the glass transition (Tg) on vetiver waste, the castor cake meal, and cornhusk. The results showed that increasing water content will decrease the number of Tg. The number of Tg is about 353.7 C – 365.2 °C, the lowest is the castor seed cake, in the middle is vetiver waste, and the highest is cornhusk. Based on this analysis, castor cake meal is recommended to be biocomposite material, because it has low Tg and easy to be biocomposite production..
