dc.description.abstractThis study was aimed to asses the potency of A.aegypti and A. albopictus as the primary and secondary vectors of dengue fever. The data were gathered through adult and larva collection of mosquitoes and method of interview. The area observation was at Utan Kayu Utara village, Matraman subdistrict, East of Jakarta. Method of research was an observation of larvae and the results showed house index (HI) rate was 11.5%, container index (CI) rate was 6.5%, and Breteau index (BI) rate was 13.3 %. Method of biting rate index (indoor) and house density index of A. aegypti was the highest on May compare to the other months. Peak activity was the highest on 08.00-12.00 am and 04-06 pm. The population of A. aegypti was also dominant compare to A. albopictus at human dwelling. Method of biting rate index (outdoor) of A. aegypti was the highest on June and peak activity was the highest on 00.00-02 pm and 02-04 pm .A. albopictus was the highest on April and peak activity was the highest on 08.00-10.00 am and 04-06 pm. The population of A. albopictus was also dominant compare to A. aegypti at school building. The occurrence and the behaviour of A. aegypti was on May at 29.6 -31,5°C and RH 68%-80%. The inhabitants of Utan Kayu are mostly familiar about both A. aegypti and A. albopictus and their biology.id
