The purpose of this study was to formulate food consumption model for rural low income families. The food consumption model met nutritional adequacy and minimum cost and the family food preferences. Data were collected from 155 rural families randomly selected in Desa Cibitung Kulon Kecamatan Pamijahan Kabupaten Bogor Jabar. Data gathered included food consumption, food prices, anthropometri, and family characteristics. Linier programming was used to determine optimal solution for the food quantity consumed by individual which met nutritional adequacy, minimum cost, and food preferences. The study formulated 6 recommended food consumption model for children aged 1-9 year old, and 2 models for adult individual aged 20-59 year old with moderate activities.
