      Abstract
This study was dedicated to the development of the use and conservation policy of confiscated long-tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis, cynomulgus macaques) in Jakarta Province. The macaques that have proven healthy physically and mentally will be returned to their natural habitat. However there were no behavioral assessments data and alternatives to utilize these mentally unhealthy macaques. For this purpose, we constructed behavioral assessments and explored the alternatives of animal use in scientific purposes. Among the 47 macaques observed using instantaneous or scan sampling recording method, three macaques were noted having stereotypical anomalies behavior such as, weaving, rocking, and hand-biting. The monkeys were housed into two types of housing that we considered as stable and unstable social housing. Based on literature studies, the suppression of stereotypical anomalies behavior in monkeys are almost impossible in unstable social housing and stereotypical anomalies behavior are observed in some human conditions which considered as neuropsychopathology cases. Due to this similarity, we concluded that Macaca fascicularis could develop as animal model for neuropsychopathology.
