dc.description.abstract | Keep a pet is one of popular hobby in this society today. This research provides information the knowledge of cat owners in Bogor City about animal welfare. The data taken by using questionnaire to 50 respondents from five villages in Bogor City, from April 2014 until September 2014. The electoral wards and respondents conducted in purposive method. Respondents were classified based on income, education, age, gender, domicile (villages) and the number of cats. Cat welfare status observed based on the physical condition which includes body condition score, skin disease, wounds, limping, and worm infestation. The results of this research showed most respondents had high (62%), medium (36%), and low (2%) knowledge of animal welfare. Observations regarded the condition of overall the cat body can be said good. There were a significant relationship between knowledge with one aspect of characteristic respondents (the number of cats) and cat health management (vaccines). There is no significant relationship between knowledge with cat maintenance management. | id |
