Bamboo is one of the alternative raw materials for industry utilized to fulfil the demands on forestry sector. The purpose of this research is to analyze the characteristics of laminated bamboo and examine its suitability as a raw material in the manufacture of furniture. The raw materials used are andong bamboo and betung bamboo. The treatment of laminated bamboo here divided into four categories: laminated bamboo without node, node on face position and back, the position of the core node, as well as the position of the node on the face, core and back. The manufacture of laminated bamboo uses a 10 kg cm-2 for 3 hours as cold pressure. Laminated bamboo’s tested characteristics are density, water content, volume stability, MOE (Modulus of Elasticity) and MOR (Modulus of Rupture), and shearing strength referred to the ASTM D 143 standard. Results show that node’s presence on laminated bamboo can improve physical properties but reduce mechanical properties.id
