Respon Padi Terhadap Campuran Dolomit Dibakar 550 oC-Trass Dibandingakan dengan Trass, Terak Baja, dan Dolomit serta Kombinasinya pada Delta Berbak, Jambi
Abstract
One of the obstacles to agriculture development in peatlands is high organic acids. Ameliorant is required for peatland farm to increase soil pH and improve nutrient availability for plants. The purpose of this research is to investigate responses of paddy on peat soil with application of 550 ℃ burned dolomite and trass compare trass, steel slag, dolomite, and its combinations. This research used random complete design, 13 treatments with three replications consisting of control, NPK 50% of the dose recommendation, 5% steel slag, 5% trass, dolomite (2.5%, 1.9%, and 1.3%), 5% dolomite 550 ℃-trass (0.5:1, 0.75:1, and 1:1), and 5% combination of steel slag and burnt dolomite 550 oC-trass 1:1 (25%:75%, 50%:50%, and 75%:25%). The results of this research showed that trass or dolomite was a single application not effective as a peat soil ameliorant for paddy. However when trass was combined with burned dolomite 550 oC it is effective as ameliorant peat for paddy. Applications of burned dolomite 550 oC-trass mixture was better than trass, dolomite and steel slag only as ameliorant peat for paddy. Applications of burned dolomite 550 oC-trass combined with steel slag was better than the application of burned dolomite 550 oC-trass mixture without steel slag as ameliorant deep peat for paddy. The combination of trass-burned dolomite 550 oC with steel slag (75%: 25%) was the best ameliorant on the deep peat for paddy.
