dc.description.abstractForest community certification is an instrument to achieve sustainability forest management in ecology, economy, and social aspects. The objective of this study was to obtain forest management data based on ecology, business feasibility, and organizational in groups that have been certified and uncertified. The research was conducted in two locations of Kulonprogo Regency, that were Kaliagung Village, District of Sentolo that represent of uncertified forest community management unit (Marsudi Boga) and Banjararum Village, District of Kalibawang which represent of certified forest community management unit Koperasi Wana Lestari Menoreh (KWLM). The average income contribution of certified forest community (KWLM) was Rp 25 961 264/ha/year and uncertified forest community (Marsudi Boga) was Rp 6 688 540/ha/year. Carbon stock potential of certified community forests (KWLM) was 27.035 tones C/ha and uncertified forest community (Marsudi Boga) was 22.375 tones C/ha. Hence certified forest community provided better benefits in the form of higher carbon stock and average income.en
