Potensi Penurunan Simpanan Biomassa dan Karbon Akibat Kegiatan Penebangan dan Penyaradan
Abstract
The use of forest which does not correspond well to sufficient preserving management tends to cause damage due tofelling and skidding activities. Therefore, the research is aimed to calculating the potential of biomass and carbon stock decrease as the impact of felling and skidding activities, by making ten 100 m x 100 m (1 ha) plots. The calculation of the potential of biomass and carbon stock decrease employed an allometric equation, formulated as B = 0.2792 D2.53Tbc-0.332and C = 0.1503 D2.57Tbc-0.357 (Wulansih 2012). The biomass and carbon supply prior to harvest is 159.91 ton/ha and 91.21 ton C/ha. The decrease of biomass emergent in 7 tree/ha appeared to be 46.57 ton/ha, tantamount to 29.30%. It then kept stock for biomass in the forest remain in the number of 112.34 ton/ha or respectively 70.70% as opposed to the preliminary biomass. Meanwhile, the decrease of carbon supply in regard to 7 tree/ha resulted in 27.41 ton C/ha, or equivalent as 29.90%. Eventually, there was only 63.79 ton C/ha or, in percentage, 70.10% carbon stock in the forest remaining.
