dc.description.abstractSrengseng Urban Forest (SUF) is one of the urban forest in Jakarta. SUF’s main problem is the amount of waste that is deliberately thrown away by residents around the SUF area . It takes a basic understanding of proper waste management. Therefore, a case study was conducted on the management of turning waste into compost at Karinda Garden, South Jakarta. As well to know the added value and feasibility of composting, so that it can be implemented by SUF as a strategy in providing compost in future times to come and it can be used as basic education to the residents around SUF about how to manage the organic waste. The added value through waste management of Rp 542.35/kg or by 75.43%. Karinda Garden composting is considered feasible in aspects of market, management, technique, social, and financial. Based on financial analysis, the NPV obtained from operations amounted up to Rp 33 492 850 with BCR of 1.12 and IRR of 45 %. SUF garden waste utilization can produce 12 474 kg of compost in a year. This fertilizer can be used to provide compost in the future for greening the SUF area.en
