dc.description.abstractPerhutani as the largest production forest managers in Java Island suffered many losses caused by timber theft. The objectives of this research are analyzing the rate of timber theft, identify the influence of biophysical factors to rate of timber theft vulnerability, identify the effect of biophysical factors of timber theft vulnerability, and create a map of timber theft vulnerability in KPH Mantingan. The method used in this research by Geographical Information System (GIS) analyze. theft occurred in 2010 with the number of loss as 2275 trees, BKPH Kalinanas was the region which have the highest average of timber theft as 632 trees/ year. Biophysical factors consist of age class, slope class, road distance and residential distance affect in timber theft as 11.25%. The accuracy test of vulnerability rate to timber theft get the value of Overall accuracy as 50.61% and Kappa accuracy as 28.15%. The rate of vulnerability to timber theft in KPH Mantingan divided in 3 classes namely low (2502.33 Ha), medium (10 970.44 Ha), and high (2924.98 Ha).en
