      Abstract
The aim of this experiment was to study the degree of helminth infection caused by Haemonchus contortus based on the number of worm and egg per gram of faeces (EPG) on thin tail sheep. Faecal samples were collected from 20 sheeps infected by Haemonchus contortus with the doses of 500, 1000, 2000, 4000 infected larva and non infected group as control. Adult worms were collected from the experimental sheeps at the end of experiment. In eighth week after infection, the results showed the highest establishment occurred on the infected groups of 500, 1000,2000 and 4000 larvae with the percentage of 50.1%, 14.6%, 6.1% and 3.6%, repectively.. Linear regression analysis showed strong relationship between the number of EPG and the number of worms of Haemonchus contortus. Degree infection were categorized based on the number of worms showed a mild infection with 1-250 worms produced as many as 50- 4400 EPG, medium infection with 251-500 worms produced as many as 4400- 8800 EPG and heavy infection with >500 worms produced >8000 EPG.
