The aim of this research was to investigate the influence of Haemonchus contortus infection on the weight gain of thin tail sheep. Twenty thin tail sheep, which have previously been freed from helminth infection were devided into five groups. One group served as uninfected controls, whereas the other four groups were infected experimentaly with 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 H. contortus. The animal were weighed weekly for eigth weeks. At the end of the study all sheep were slaugtered for worm counting of H. contortus in abomasum. Degrees of infection were catagorized based on the number of worm into three groups namely mild (1-250), moderate (251-500), and heavy infection (>500). Results of this study showed there were decreased weight gain of 1170 g, 1703 g, 1633 g, 2680 g for control, mild, moderat and heavy infection. The percentage decline of weight gain on mild group was 10 %, moderat group was 11 % and 16 % heavy infection group was compared with at begining of experimenten
