Pelapisan Hidroksiapatit Berbasis Cangkang Telur pada Logam Stainless Steel 316 dengan Metode Deposisi Elektroforetik

Stainless steel (SS) 316 metal is much used for purposes implantation bone. However, this metal still have low biocompatibility in the living body. Biocompatibility of SS 316 metal can be improved through coating metal using material hydroxyapatite (HAp). The purpose of this research is to coat metal surface SS 316 with HAp used electrophoretic deposition method. On the research is done variation the concentration of a HAp colloidal suspension and time a coating (2 minutes and 3 minutes) with the voltage used is 120V, in hopes of gaining the best coating results. Analysis of a sample of by using FTIR indicates the presence of the womb a cluster of complex HAp form PO43-, CO32-, and OH-. Diffraction pattern for a single drop of precipitation results showed that the phase formed was HAp. Diffraction pattern of the coating results showed that metal surface SS 316 coated by HAp. The test results SEM-EDX show that the between the use of variable concentrations of suspensions 1 and suspension 2 for 2 minutes and 3 minutes, use suspension 2 for 2 minutes (sample 2a) shows the results of coating the best.
