Peran Pemberian Ekstrak Tempe terhadap Kadar DNA dan RNA Organ Reproduksi Tikus Betina pada Usia Lepas Sapih

Abstract

Tempe is soybean product that contains phytoestrogen. This research was conducted to study the potential of tempe extract to the reproduction performance in female rats. Eighten female rats 21-days old were divided into two groups, which were control group and treatment group that were given tempe extract 0.5 g per rat everyday for 28 days. Parameters observed were estrogen hormone level, wet and dry weight, water content, total of DNA and total of RNA. Data obtained at the age of 28, 42 and 56 days. Data analyzed using Independent Samples T-test method with 95% confidence interval. Result showed that treatment group increased estrogen hormone level and increased wet weight of uterus but there was no influence on the total of DNA and RNA of organs.
