dc.description.abstractChanges in land use is done as a form of development based on local government policy. PT. Indocement Palimanan has built tall vegetation as a form of sustainable management commitment. The data on role of tall vegetation in controlling surface temperature was needed as the baseline data to maximize PT.Indocement’s environmental management program. This research aimed to measure changes in land use and its effect on surface temperature between 2003 and 2013, and to determine the role of tall vegetation in controlling surface temperature. The results showed changes in tall vegetation and shrubbery area had increased respectively as many as 7.15 Ha and 10.55 Ha. This condition had decreased the upper limit of surface temperature by 0.4 0C. Tall vegetation had containted in controlling surface temperature at the average temperature of 25.9 0C.en
