Wana Wisata and Rest Area Urug, a tourism and recreation area with 6 ha coverage, was once a production forest area of managed by KPH Tasikmalaya. KPH Tasikmalaya managed the area in cooperation with the local government of Tasikmalaya City, and Padepokan Garuda Paksi. The development of Wana Wisata and Rest Area Urug provides positive impact of the increasing number of visitors and job opportunities, but on the other side uncontrollable increase of number of visitors is posing a threat in triggering a decline in the resource’s quality. Therefore, the development of this area should consider it’s resources suitability and carrying capacity. The results showed that tourism suitability index of four tourism activities conducted in the area, i.e. relaxing, out bound, camping, and paint ball, fell into appropriate category, while off road activity fell into appropriate with pre requisite category. The study also showed that the average number of visitors in March was 30 people a day, much lower than the area’s carrying capacity of 2611 people a day. It means that the management still have the opportunity to increase visitor number through various expansion programs.en
