dc.description.abstractThis research showed synthesis of hydroxyapatite by wise drop precipitation method. Hydroxyapatite precipitation results was made of calcium precursors derived from domestic and broiler chicken eggshell and a source of phosphate using (NH4)2HPO4. Hydroxyapatite was synthesized at 110 °C for 5 hours and without holding time. Powder of chicken eggshells were characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared spectrometer and SEM-EDX. Chicken eggshell after calcination showed powders of CaO, and elements C of about 1.54% and 0.92%, element Mg about 0.42% and 0.62% and element P about 0.26% and 0.49%. Morphological structure after calcination showed uniform matrix. Content of calcium in the powder of domestic chicken eggshell is 64.72% while broiler chicken eggshell is 71.11%. The content of functional groups in hydroxyapatite characterization by Fourier Transform Infrared have OH-, PO43- bending which shows the characteristics of hydroxyapatite. Morphological structure of hydroxyapatite samples showed visible adjacent structures and small particles with uniform particle size vary with particle length and width of the particle around 0.34 to 0.39 and 0.13 to 0.16. While composition ratio Ca/P of hydroxyapatite sample obtained in range of 1.5 to 1.62.en
