Desain Taman Cilaki Atas Kota Bandung Berbasis Ekologi
Abstract
Urban park is a green open space which accomodate social activities needs. Aesthetic and ecological space are another function of urban park. Bandung is one of many cities which have many urban parks, with the potency to provide an ecological balance in the city. However, urban parks of which are available in most cases created simply for beautification and social function, while the other function is still can be maximized. The function of urban parks that are often forgotten is the controller of ecological balance. Upper Cilaki Bandung Urban Park is one of it. Urban park which maximizing ecological function and understanding the ecological characteristics of the landscape is needed. One of the ecological aspects which are becoming main point in park issues is the hydrological aspect. The characteristics of park topography which is relatively steep, causing many topsoil removal. A descriptive analysis was carried out to determine the physical characteristics and the design of the park. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the user's characteristics of urban park to find out the needs and expectations of users especially for ecological sustainability of the environment. Then, the functional, aesthetic, and ecologic urban park design will be produced. The basic concepts used are eco urban park. In the design process, it is important to note the recreation and ecological aspects. Ecology which is mentioned here cover a natural environmental cycle and preservation of local culture. The design concept applying nervous patterns to create the feel of the city. These patterns become the focal point that breaks down the natural impression of the park. Seven retention ponds which are connected with bioswale built to support the ecological function. The pond will maximize the infiltration of water run off cached as well as irrigation needs. This research is expected to be a consideration and guidelines in designing the urban parks based on ecology.
