dc.description.abstractPhysical development for urban infrastructure gives an impact of reducing the green open area. This situation led to an increasing of air temperature, makes the urban environment is getting warmer. One of the solution to lower the air temperature is developing an area of open green spaces, specifically urban forest. Urban forest is an approaching and the implementation of one or more functions in a group of forest vegetation at urban areas that have specific purpose such as protection, recreation, aesthetics, and other utility functions for the benefit of urban communities. The comfort index of some urban forest and city park in the city of Malang is currently at a comfortable level (IK value = 21-24), then the management of urban forest need to be more intensive and effective such as to select tree species that are capable and have a big impact on air quality for create a microclimate and makes the area to become more comfortable.en
