dc.description.abstractThe forestry sector is an activity that has a high level of risk because of work must be faced with the difficult working conditions. One of the works included in the forestry sector is the timber industry, or better known as the furniture industry. Event furniture industry consists of activities forming component (sawmill), sanding and finishing. These activities can lead to potential accidents at work if the worker does not understand the dangers that can occur from these activities, and therefore required considerable knowledge of occupational safety and health (OSH) protection to prevent accidents. This study aims to describe the working conditions and the general perception of the teak wood furniture industry workers about OSH protection in the Mulyoharjo Village Regency of Jepara. Collecting data in this study was obtained through in-depth interviews about the occupational safety and health protection against 90 respondents were included in the category of workers with the types of activities such as the formation of the components (sawmill), sanding and finishing. The results obtained in this study showed a dangerous working conditions with physical and chemical factors values above threshold value and the presence of significant difference between the value of self-assessment and control value-based assessment in which respondents are overestimates and has a poor level of knowledge.en
