dc.description.abstractUjung Kulon National Park is the largest remaining representative of low land tropical rain forest ecosystem in West Java. Information on amphibians comparison between isolated island and main island (island biogeography theory) is very limited. Therefore, research was conducted on Peucang Island and Cidaon, in order to determine the amphibian differences between Peucang Island and Cidaon and assessing spatial distribution of amphibian in relation with fresh water resources. The research was conducted in March 2013 for 84man- hours. Data were collected using Visual Encounter Survey (VES) in combination with Time Search. Nine species of amphibian were found in both locations consisted of 6 families with 75 individuals. Amphibian species in Cidaon include species that live in the forest while on Peucang island were mostly species that live in disturbed area. Three species of amphibians were not found in Peucang island: Limnonectes macrodon, Fejervarya cancrivora and Leptobrachium hasselti. Amphibian distribution in both locations shows connection with fresh water source, including permanent flowing water and temporary waters.en
