dc.description.abstractThe objectives of this research were to determine the percentage of the methanol extract leaves, bark, and wood of the white jabon tree, and to examine the activity of such anticancer extract by in vitro (pretreatment with BSLT method, and antiproliferation of the MCF-7 breast cancer cell, HeLa cervix cancer cell, and Vero normal cell), as well as to analyze the content of chemical extract having the highest anticancer activity qualitatively through qualitative phytochemistry and quantitatively by using GC-MS pyrolisis. Antiproliferation test was conducted by MTT method. The result of this research revealed that the leaves of the white jabon obtained the highest extract at 13.22%. The extrac of bark and wood were very toxic to the larvae of lobster A. salina at the value LC50 197 μg/mL and LC50 122 μg/mL. Anticancer activity of bark extract towards MCF-7 cancer cell (IC50 91 μg/mL) was higher than the part its wood (IC50 312 μg/mL). However, bark extract was higher towards HeLa cancer cell (IC50 3 μg/mL) than MCF-7 cancer cell (IC50 91 μg/mL). Bark extract was very potential to be developed as anticancer agent to cervix and breast, and kept in save in normal cell (IC50 288 μg/mL). The result of qualitative analysis in bark extract positively consisted of phenol, flavanoid, alkaloid, saponin, triterpenoid, and glycoside. Pyrolisis analysis of GC-MS showed that in bark extract was detected the derived of fatty acid and phenol.en
