Gambaran Sel Darah Merah Ayam Broiler yang Diberi Testosteron Dosis Bertingkat
Abstract
Productivity is closely related to chicken’s hematological conditions. The research was conducted to study the effect of testosterone given on the characteristics of red blood cells (erythrocytes number, haemoglobin level, and hematocrit values) of broiler chicken. 15 days of 12 broiler chickens were used in this study, with 4 groups (K, T1, T2, and T3). K was control groups, T1, T2, and T3 were broiler chicken which given 1, 2, and 4 mg testosteron respectively. The design of experiment using completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Data analysis was using ANOVA Duncan test. Our results showed that testosterone had significant effect (p <0.05) to the number of red blood cells, but it had no significant effect (p >0.05) to the amount of hemoglobin and hematocrit levels. Testosteron effective dose to increase erythrocytes number is 1 mg per 2 days (T1).
