Broiler chicken is the most popular livestock in Indonesia. Heat and metabolic stress in Indonesia become problem to increase broiler chicken production. Methionine is an essensial amino acid which can be used to decrease of heat and metabolic stress. The purpose of this study was to obtain an effective dose of methionine that observed from the differentiation of leucocyte. The method used was a completely randomized design one-way ANOVA. A total of 27 broiler chickens were divided into 3 groups. First group was control, second group was given methionine 0.2% in feed, and third group was given methionine 0.4% in feed. Blood analysis was conducted by using hemositometer method and blood smear examination. Methionine administration in feed were not significantly affect the leucocyte number and heterophil/lymphocyte ratio. The highest of average number lymphocytes obtained at the dose of 0.2%. The lowest of average number heterophils obtained at the dose of 0.2%. The results showed that administration of methionine 0.2% obtain the best H/L ratio. Methionine 0.2% could be used to reduce heat stress.en
