Sistem Monitoring Thesis Progress Mahasiswa Pascasarjana Institut Pertanian Bogor

Abstract

Thesis progress is a series of activities that must be passed to obtain a Master's degree at the postgraduate school of Bogor Agricultural University (SPs-IPB). The activities started from the first commission meeting, colloquium, second commission meeting, seminar, third commission meeting, thesis, and graduation certificate. Monitoring process is currently not very effective because it can not be accessed by lecturers and students. This research aims to build a web-based system for monitoring thesis progress and student's grade point. The system is built with web engineering method using CodeIgniter framework. Thesis monitoring consists of monitoring progress per class, progress recapitulation per course of study, thesis progress per supervisor, and the average length of study from the last five classes. Grade monitoring are divided into grades per subject, the continuation of study, GPA recaps from the last four classes, and the GPA average from the last five classes. The system development in this research is expected to facilitate the users in the process of monitoring to improve the quality of education.
