Conservation Education (CE) has been intensively implemented by Gunung Halimun Salak National Park (GHSNP) since the 2nd periode of cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in 1997 – 2003. Subsequent to the period of cooperation with JICA, GHSNP is still implementing the same CE programs with lower intensity. However in that period GHSNP had also developed several new programs, the Model of Conservation Village (MKK), CE at Loji Eagle Sanctuary, and Tree Adoption. A package of written and audio visual information on conservation of biodiversity for the community and visitors, and public awareness programs in and around GHSNP had also been developed in the early period of Center for Biodiversity Conservation (PKB)-GHSNP development. The independent Sample T-test results on respondents’ score of knowledge and attitude showed that there was not any significant difference between the member of MKK and non-member of MKK, which indicated that CE program conducted by GHSNP manager had effectively reach the community
