dc.description.abstractTending of line planting in the selective cutting and line planting system must be managed intensively to improve productivity. The widening of planting line is aimed to increase the light intensity to increase plant growth. The objectives of the research are to determine the correlation between stem diameter and trees distance, as well the correlation between stem and crown diameter as the basic of the plant liberation. The result of regression analysis showed that the approach of stem diameter and distance of competitor trees is one of the vertical technique for widening line planting. The equation result between stem diameter and distance among the trees is “X = 3.567 – 0.797 dbh + 0.121 dbh2 – 0.004 dbh3”, this equation can be used as a basic for silvicultural treatment. The equation between stem diameter and crown diameter is “Cda = 2.535 – 0.031 dbh + 0.0498 dbh2 – 0.002 dbh3”, this equation can’t be used as a basic for silvicultural treatment. Based on the research, the growth level of saplings which have diameter 5–9 cm dbh and located 1–2.5 m from the center of subplots would be felt. At the level of pole or trees which have diameter ≥10 cm and located 3–5 m from the center would be girdling.en
