dc.description.abstractA. macrophyllus has very small seeds, semi-recalcitrant seeds, short fruiting period and naturally spread out in the Eastern part of Indonesia that leads to limited production of quality seeds and seedlings. The objectives of this research was (1) to obtain a technology for cutting material preparation, (2) to test the cutting materials and IBA hormonal effect on the success rate of cuttings of jabon merah. The results showed that the technique for cutting material preparation could increase the shoot production in stem bending treatment in the first to tenth weeks after treatment in hedge orchard of 1 year old seedlings. NPK treatments in hedge orchard of 4 month old seedlings decreased the shoot production at the second and fourth weeks after treatments. Stem cutting materials were significantly affect the survival percentage of cuttings, rooted cutting percentage and number of shoots production. Shoot cutting materials was less satisfactory results because it was easy to produce cuttings wilt and roted easily.en
