Evaluasi Fungsionalitas dan Efektivitas Penggunaan Web serta Media Sosial (Web 2.0) Partai Politik 2014 Indonesia
Abstract
Information technology especially website and social media have significantly transformed by changing communication and political views in many countries. The high penetration of internet use and social media in Indonesia forces political parties to use a new strategy for online campaign. The aim of the study is to analyze the political parties website and social media activities of 34 political parties which participated in the first round of the 2014 general election in Indonesia. The study starts from October 2012 until January 2013 to show the relation between the use of technology and the verification results in the 2014 general election. The research focuses on studying functionality and delivery of the websites and analyzing the social media activities during the verification process of the 2014 general election. This study showed that the parties that passed as contestants of the 2014 general election are the parties which have better evaluation results for website and social network sites than those of other parties. Golkar has the best score for functionality and delivery of its website as well as for Flickr activities. In addition, Facebook account and Youtube channel of the party Gerindra and Twitter activities of the party PKS get the best scores compared to social media of other parties.
