Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a tool which is used to measure and compare the performance of Decision Making Units (DMU). DEA has been applied in many fields, such as banks, hospitals and schools. This paper measures the efficiency of nine Islamic banks which are registered in the Bank of Indonesia from June 2010 to May 2012. The efficiency is measured using three input and three output variables. Third party funds, staff costs and the number of offices are the input variables. Meanwhile total loans, profit loss sharing and other incomes are the output variables. The efficiency is measured using Charnes, Cooper and Rhodes (CCR) model with output orientation on period 1 (2010/2011) and period 2 (2011/2012). Intertemporal efficiencies are then compared and analyzed using Malmquist index. In addition, projection to efficient frontier shows how to improve those inefficient banks to reach the desired efficient level.en
