dc.description.abstractDistribution of Sambar deer in Indonesia, Sambar deer spreads in Kalimantan island and Sumatera island. Their home land has been disturbed and threatened because of land degradation and wild hunt so they need to be consevationed. The goal of this research is to know the management technique of sambar deer. This research is taken in Taman Margasatwa Ragunan (TMR) on March untill April in 2013. The research method takes three steps, field observation, literature study and interviewer. Data analysis of descriptive and quantitative. From the results of the study revealed that population of rusa sambar in 2013 10 for sub-types (Cervus unicolor equinus). Sex ratio 1:2 show that it has low productivity. Cage model is ranch in 3744 m². Feeding is divided into two groups: basic feed (forage) and supplementary feed (bran, pellets, salt and mineral). Physical health condition is not good as skinny and there are injuries. The trainer there were 3 people. The advantage is recreation, education, research and conservation land for the rare animal.en
