If managed well through breeding, all these benefits can be obtained, not only economic value, the success of a breeding butterflies will indirectly reduce the pressure on these animals in the wild. This study aims to analyze, create tread design and management, and analyze the financial feasibility of the butterfly breeding efforts. This research was conducted at the Campus IPB Dramaga for five months from July to November 2012, as the supporting data observed in Cilember Captivity Butterfly Bogor, Cihanjuang Butterfly Breeding Bandung, and Bali Butterflies Breeding. The method used in data collection include interviews, library research, and direct observations. Before designing the site and its management to prior breeding site suitability analysis, including the analysis of temperature, sunlight, rainfall and humidity, water, vegetation feed, and the presence of predators. Results of analysis of a number of environmental factors in the location of these observations indicate IPB Campus Dramaga suitable to serve as the location of butterflies breeding. The design of the site was made with three zoning, office Zones (0.37 ha), breeding (1.75 ha), and tourism (2.13 ha). Calculation results indicate that the captive power capacity capable of producing feed crops 11 138.27 gr to accommodate 924 individual butterflies per one production cycle. Sustainable harvest plan drawn up covering 60% of the crop is released into the butterfly enclosure as the main attraction, 28.1% is sold in the form of dead specimens (handicraft products), 10% restocking activities and remaining 1.9% will be used as seed. The results of the financial analysis indicates that butterflies breeding Campus IPB Dramaga feasible to run. NPV, BCR and IRR is the interest rate of 5% respectively is Rp 220 322 880, 1.64, and 31.35 %, whereas when viewed from the sensitivity analysis, a butterfly breeding business can survive up to 14% inflation rate.
