Dampak Perubahan Tutupan Lahan Terhadap Temperature Humidity Index (THI) Kawasan Kampus IPB Dramaga
Abstract
The existence of IPB (Bogor Agricultural University) Dramaga campus doesn’t only give a possitive impact on economy aspect of the surrounding communities, but also give negative impact on the environment. One of which is the land cover change that cause reduction green open space. The presence of green open space can affect human comfort condition. The objective of this research is to determine the impact of land cover changes on air temperature and Temperature Humidity Index (THI) of IPB Dramaga campus area. THI is a method to determine the comfort index, which combines the air temperature and relative humidity. Air temperature are derived from Landsat using energy balance method. Land cover are classified using unsupervised method. Average air temperature in 1994, 1997, 2006 and 2009 respectively are 24.7°C, 26.9°C, 27.4°C and 27.7°C, while the THI values are 24.1oC, 25.8oC, 25.8oC and 26.4oC. Urban green space in the years above respectively are 80%, 74.4%, 52% and 36.4%. It shows that the reduced of green open space affects the temperature increase and the value of THI IPB Dramaga campus area is at a critical point of comfort
