Space Utilization Analysis of Sunda Straits Coastal Area In Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province

Abstract

The coastal area of Pandeglang regency is a productive area and contains high potential development, but currently it faces many problems that need to be resolved. This study aims to: (1). Identify problems in coastal areas, (2) Analyze dominant factor affect utilization of coastal areas, and (3) Analyze the spatial and to search land suitability for fisheries, aquaculture, marine tourism, fishing harbors and marine conservation. Analysis were conducted through questionnaires to the experts to find criteria using Analytic Network Process (ANP) method, spatial analysis using overlay technique, that standardized weights from ANP. The results of this study showed the problems occuring in the coastal areas due to overlapping policies and less coordination between sectors in managing coastal areas. The interviews with respondents produced the weights of criteria and parameters that have mutual influence in policy cluster function at 0.3488, ecological at 0.3399 and socio economy at 0.3113. While the priority utilization matrix in policy function, the influential criteria is RZWP3K at 16.89% and RTRW at 16.81%. On socio-economic functions, the most influential criteria is transportation at 6.67%, population structure at 6.65% and infrastructure at 6.32%. The most influential criteria of ecological function is physical suitability at 6.05%, land use at 6.08% and hazard at 5.80%. The location suitable for mariculture activity range from Pagelaran to Panimbang district offshore area. Conservation activity is suitable at Taman Jaya coastal water around the island of Badul. The suitable are for marine tourism is Sukaresmi to Tanjung Jaya and the small islands at the Ujung Kulon. The suitable of areas fishing port area the villages of Caringin, Cigondang, Pejamben and Teluk. The most suitable areas for fisheries activity are Labuan District, Panimbang and Sukaresmi.
