Studi Kasus Mikosis Kutis pada Kucing dengan Menggunakan Wood’s Lamp Screening Test
Abstract
Cutaneous mycoses is a disease that commonly found in the veterinary practice. Many kinds of fungi can grow easily in tropical countries such as Indonesia. Bogor is a city in West Java with high rainfall, thus potential for being reservoir and transmission source of this disease. The objectives of this study is to determine the number of cutaneous mycoses cases in cats based on secondary data in Maximus Pet Care Bogor, the number of infected cats were diagnosed by Wood’s lamp screening test and described the cutaneous mycoses characteristic as well. Secondary data summarized in one year showed that the average of cutaneous mycoses in cats were 16 cases per month. Most infected cats were recorded in October during raining season. Positive value was shown by 111 of 176 (63%) samples examined. Some lesions such as focus or multifocal alopecia, scale, follicular cast, crust, papule, and epidermal collarette were found during physical examination. Cutaneous mycoses can be treated using topical and systemic antifungal drugs.
