dc.description.abstract | Application development with object-oriented approach has many advantages, such as: easy to maintain, scalable, and flexible. Those advantages will become irrelevant if the developed application needs relational database and is not handled well. Application development with an object-oriented and relational database approach potentially create problems, therefore a technique to link both concepts is needed. one of the popular techniques to overcome existing problems between the object-oriented and relational database approach is Object Relational Mapping (ORM). In this research, an object-oriented e-commerce application and relational database approach was developed. To solve a concept difference between object-oriented and database approach, a Hibernate framework is used. Hibernate is one of the tools that utilize ORM's ability to link those two different concepts. Research shows that an e-commerce application development by using ORM technique can make a database organizing process easier so that the applications that are being developed can be managed better. | en |
