      Abstract
Industrial plantation forest (HTI) is potential for carbon trading because of its good ability to absorb carbon when there is a sustainable forest management. Given limited information about HTI carbon sequestration, cost of HTI carbon sequestration and economic implications for the company and if it is to involve in carbon trading, a study is required of the potential economic incentives to REDD +. This study was aimed to determine the economic incentive from carbon sequestration of REDD + for the management of industrial plantations forest in PT. Wirakarya Sakti Jambi Province. The data used in this study is of a secondary type obtained through a literature study in the form of the Periodic Comprehensive Forest Inventory Data and Financial Report of PT. Wirakarya Sakti in 2005. Data processing was carried out to assess three criteria: Net Present Value (NPV), Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) and Internal Rate of Returns (IRR) and the feasibility analysis was for the period of 10 years. In the mineral soil, the capacity of carbon emission reduction in the management of industrial plantation forest with the Acacia crassicarpa stands was 25.90 to 188.05 tCO2/ha. Acacia mangium stands could reduce carbon emissions by 7.69 to 228.88 tCO2/ha and in the Eucalyptus pellita stands the reduction ranged from ranged from 13.57 to 129.97 tCO2/ha. On peat soils, the carbon potential in Acacia crassicarpa stands ranged from 0.60 to 163.38 tCO2/ha and in Acacia mangium stands 14.44 to 138.27 tCO2/ha. The average cost of carbon sequestration was Rp 57.249/tCO2 – Rp 18.67 million/tCO2.
