Hot Pepper (Capsicum Annuum. L) Agribussiness Expert System Based On Android

Abstract

The objective of the research was to develop a consultation system for Chili Pepper (Capsicum annuum. L) agribusiness based on android. The method included problem identification, the search knowledge sources, knowledge acquisition, knowledge representation and consultation system development based on android. Knowledge from the expert and other’s materials has been captured and represented to develop the system. The system development was done by using extreme programming (XP) which included the stages of analysis, design and implementation. The results of this research is a chili pepper agribusiness expert system based on android which consists of nine consultation modules like choosing the best cultivar, fertilizing recommendation, land preparation, identified disease, controlling insect pest, farmers income and profit gain, after harvest’s technique, government policy, and price information based on user’s location. The system was running well on the android phone. Users can download the application from http://apps.cs.ipb.ac.id or http://appsriset.ipb.ac.id as a mirror link, then install it on their smartphone or computer tablet .
